Cynthia holds a Bachelors's Degree in Social Work from the University of Oregon and a Master's Degree in clinical psychology with additional advanced training in art therapy from Antioch University.
She brings a unique combination of academic training and real-world experience to her work. She has been an adoptive and biological parent of two sons, a step-parent, a foster and group home parent and understands first hand the challenges and joys of family life. During her professional career, she has been a personnel recruiter for the University of Washington, a marketing manager for an international electronics manufacturer and, most recently, a mental health consultant with Volunteers of America, providing support to Snohomish County child care providers.
She regularly collaborates with the Providence Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse and is currently and a consultant to Project Safe, the prevention arm of the Cocoon House - teen homeless shelter.
Cynthia is a member of the Mental Health Counselors Association of Washington, the American Association of Art Therapy, and the Evergreen Art Therapy Association. Cynthia enjoys gardening, public speaking, white water rafting, and art of all kinds.
